Heading into the the week of the 2025 ULD World Championship it looked as if we would be dealing with hurricane Imelda. Fortunately the storm turned out to sea and left us with some gorgeous South Carolina sunshine. Other than the winds we often deal with at this venue, conditions were perfect. Tom and the crew at Par Tee Golf Center provided us with a well-groomed long drive grid.

The event commenced on Wednesday October 1, 2025 and concluded Saturday night under the lights with Naoto Misumi winning yet another Open Pro division World Championship. In a touching acceptance, Naoto dedicated this win and belt to his wife. Jarod Golightly put on an awesome show launching bombs in every set. Naoto had to play out of the loser’s bracket and beat Jarod twice to take the win.

Returning to the backyard of her college golf days, University of South Carolina alumna Adrienne McDonald claimed victory in the Women’s Open Pro Division, topping Sofia Arthur in a memorable finish. Sofia won the ladies Open Amateur division. Jarret Myers, in his first year of long drive competition took the win in the Open Men’s Amateur division.
