Hey, long drivers! If you’ve been glued to the weather apps like we have, you’ll know the Atlantic has been throwing some curveballs our way this hurricane season. But we’ve got some fantastic news to share from the Ultimate Long Drive team: Tropical Storm Imelda, which had us all on high alert, has turned tail and is heading out to sea without making landfall on the U.S. coast. No direct hits, no major disruptions.

Flash back to last year, and it’s a whole different story. Hurricane Helene slammed right into the heart of our event, bringing heavy rains, gusty winds, and all the chaos you can imagine. But true to the spirit of long drive, our competitors, crew, and fans powered through it. We adapted on the fly, kept the grid running, and somehow managed to wrap up on schedule. It was a testament to everyone’s resilience—hats off to all of you who stuck it out!

This year, when the forecasts started hinting at another potential storm—Imelda—barreling toward our championship in West Columbia, SC, it felt like a total Groundhog Day scenario. Déjà vu all over again, right? We weren’t about to let history repeat itself without a fight. Our event team rolled in early to knock out preps ahead of time, ensuring everything from the grid to the spectator areas was locked and loaded, just in case Imelda decided to crash the party.

Well, the good news is… no hurricane this year! With Imelda staying offshore and fizzling out over the open Atlantic, we’re full steam ahead for the 2025 ULD World Championship at Par Tee Driving Range from October 1-5. Expect some epic drives, fierce competition, and that unbeatable long drive energy under sunny(ish) skies. If you’re qualified or just coming to spectate, mark your calendars—we can’t wait to see you there.

Stay tuned to our site and socials for any last-minute updates, and let’s make this the best championship yet. Send It!
