Purpose

The number one request we entertained in creating our series’ was to provide more on-the-tee competition opportunities. The League / Series concept does that. TDs should plan a minimum of 6 events each season in their territory…more if possible.

Event Schedule / Time

With a format of 2 sets of 6 balls, the event can be turned very quickly. Our system allows for single, double, and triple teeing if necessary. For that matter you can go 4 wide if needed….just takes more personnel. An event with 15 hitters can easily be turned in under 2 hours single teed. Double teeing cuts that time in half if you’re using 2 ball scorers on the grid. It’s possible to double tee with 1 ball scorer on the grid, but it takes a little longer for 1 person to score the longest balls and collect all the others in the grid. We normally double tee at 16 to 20 hitters and triple tee at 32+.

Season Points

Hitters who chose your series as their home league will compete to win their division. Division winners get an invite to the Nationals. Those who did not win are not out by any means. If the division winner already qualified by way of a major win or world ranking points, the invite goes to the hitter next in line and so on. We also look at competition participation for wild cards.

The Paths to the Nationals

  1. League / Series Division Winners
  2. League Championship event winners
  3. Division Winners of World Ranking Points
  4. Regional Major Qualifier Division Winners
  5. Wild Cards

All players must go through the National Championship to be invited to the World Championship.

League Championship

Each summer, all TDs shall host a League Championship event. This event provides an additional path to the Nationals. The goal is for all events to be on the same weekend each summer. League events may be scheduled after the League Championship up to 2 weeks before the National Championship. Exceptions for  must be approved in advance. League Championship points are awarded at 1.5 times the formula. While outside (your league) players may participate, they are not eligible for transfer spots to the Nationals from this event. All transfer spots go to your league players.

Qualifier Events – Regional Majors

TDs may apply for a qualifier in their territory. Typically all qualifiers are operated by ALD/XLD HQ Staff and TDs. Exceptions can and will be made for TDs who have assisted with multiple qualifiers, worked all aspects of the event, and understand the ALD and XLD qualifying system.

No qualifiers may be schedule by a TD without ALD/XLD HQ approval.
