USA Long Drive, Inc.: National Governing Body, Athlete Advocate, and Steward of the Sport
The sport of long drive continues to grow in popularity, participation, and global reach. At the heart of long drive’s development in the United States stands USA Long Drive, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as the National Governing Body (NGB) for long drive golf. As the official representative of the United States to the Long Drive Federation — the sport’s International Governing Body — USA Long Drive provides the structure, standards, and vision needed to govern and grow the sport sustainably and inclusively.
Governing With Purpose
USA Long Drive exists to govern the sport — not to run competitions. Its role is to establish the framework that ensures competitions across the nation are safe, fair, transparent, and accessible to athletes at every level. Specifically, the organization:
-
Develops national competition rules and safety standards
-
Sanctions long drive events across the U.S.
-
Supports athlete development, eligibility, and pathways
-
Ensures fairness, integrity, and inclusion in all aspects of the sport
-
Represents U.S. athletes internationally within the Long Drive Federation
-
Promotes athlete welfare through ethical and transparent governance.
Mission & Core Pillars
The mission of USA Long Drive is clear: to govern, develop, and grow the sport of long drive golf by expanding participation, strengthening athlete pathways, advancing safety and fairness, supporting youth and underserved communities, and serving as the United States’ voice within the international sport community.
This mission is grounded in four core pillars of impact:
Access & Inclusion
Broadening opportunities for long drive participation regardless of age, gender, ability, or economic status.
Community & Outreach
Using long drive as a vehicle to give back — from youth programs and clinics to community and veteran outreach.
Development & Innovation
Creating sustainable athlete pathways through education, technology access, and training opportunities.
Legacy & Impact
Honoring the sport’s history while promoting wellness, positive community engagement, and lifelong connections.
Athletes First
Central to USA Long Drive’s philosophy is the principle “Athletes First. Always.” From published sport rules and athlete eligibility standards to formal athlete representation on the Board of Directors, the organization ensures athletes have a voice in the governance process.
Looking Ahead
As long drive golf continues to gain momentum — both in the U.S. and globally — USA Long Drive remains committed to fostering a sport that is safe, inclusive, inspiring, and internationally respected. Whether you’re an athlete, event organizer, supporter, or partner, there are many pathways to engage with and support the future of long drive in America.
