The ALD points system is being updated for the 2022 season to ensure that all leagues and participants can be competitive when it comes to the World Number One Points Winner. Beginning this October ALD will weight wins and top 3 finishes higher with greater emphasis being placed on Wins. In Regional Majors, we will use a “plus 5” rule instead of double points. For example, if we have 20 competitors in a division, we will use the point system for 25. This will keep everything simpler throughout the year, and create more competitive world ranking across leagues and divisions.
We have run this through last year’s leagues and it has shown positive results in a much tighter points race while truly putting a value on wins. The new system takes effect October 1st 2021!
