The ULD™ Championship Series held two events on May 11th to complete the 19th event of the season….just under halfway. There’s plenty of opportunity left to compete in the USA and Canada in this season, including 4 more major qualifiers: June 15th in Jefferson City; Missouri, June 22nd in Beaumont, California; July 13th in Granger, Iowa; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina August 15th. Major Qualifier winners get an automatic invite to the Worlds, and each of these events pays double points.

Battle at the Border

The Battle at the Border turned out to include a battle with the rain at this event. Seven loyal warriors of the grid conquered the rain to finish the tournament. Returning Open Men’s hitter, Michael “Sasquatch” Byrley won his division on the rain-soaked grid. He was followed by newcomer John Barrick. Jay Seaman made his 2019 ULD™ debut to finish third, and returning hitter, Tim Brown finished 4th in the open division. Cortney Porro continued to reign at the top of the Open Women’s Division with Michelle Scanlin finishing second. Neal Causey was the lone Senior Men’s division hitter, still wearing the cast, and is still hitting one handed….and still getting points! Neal is currently number four in World Ranking for the Senior Men’s division.
