Open qualifying at TPC Myrtle Beach on Friday June 16, 2017 brought out some really big hitters. A brief thunderstorm resulted in a delay that created a time crunch for the GolfWeek Amateur tour competitors who were on hand to play a skins game. They barely got their qualifying in before their scheduled tee times. Beth Hunt competing in the Adult Female division qualified with a drive of 240 yards. Senior Male competitors Jeff Cesanaro (285 yards) Greg Moses (277 yards) and Ken Hausley Jr (267 yards) have qualified for the championship rounds for their division. Adult Male competitors Colton Hackman (16 years old -333 yards), Jeff Emory (328 yards), Ernie Guimond (327 yards), Donnie Pritt (321 yards), and Jarin Josue (319 yards) will be moving on to the championship rounds in their division.
